Senior Carson Clark led a Laker boys' contingent that captured four of the top six spots in a cross country meet hosted by Truckee at Riverview Park this past Friday.
Clark finished with a time of 18 minutes, 29 seconds on the 3.1-mile course to earn first place ahead of the Sugar Bowl Academy's Austin Meng, who posted a 19:11. The Lakers' Patrick McElravey finished third with a time of 19:31, and was followed by teammates Noah McDermott in fourth (19:32) and Hugo Ramirez in sixth (20:08).
A trio from the Sugar Bowl Academy was even more dominant in the girls' race, as Cassidy Cichowicz led a 1-2-3 sweep along with Katrin Larusson and Danielle Navinski. Cichowicz posted a time of 22:43 to win the girls' race, while Larusson finished in 22:03 and Navinski in 22:13.
Led by sophomore Ruby Wood, Truckee's girls took the fourth through seventh places, as well as the ninth spot, to record five top-10 finishes. Wood finished with a time of 23:26 for fourth place, while Gaby Garcia was fifth (24:11), Annika Deurlington sixth (24:28), Carly Clusserath seventh (24:45) and Fenja Hass ninth (26:01).
Carly Leininger led the Laker girls, finishing eighth with a time of 25:15, while Kyle Jorgensen led the Truckee boys in 12th (20:57). Fletcher McConnell was 11th (20:53) for the Lakers.
There were a total of 39 boys and 27 girls who competed from the above schools, as well as Sparks, Spring Creek and Silver Stage.
