Spring lacrosse gearing up in Truckee, North Tahoe

Young athletes from Truckee and North Lake Tahoe can learn and play the “fastest game on two feet” this spring, as lacrosse teams for youth and high school are being formed to compete in the High Sierra Lacrosse League.

Leagues for ages 9 to 15 are available in both Truckee and North Tahoe, with play beginning in March and running through May. Teams will compete against other club squads from north and south Reno, Sparks, Spanish Springs and Fallon. This year’s Youth Jamboree will be April 12 at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School.

High School lacrosse teams are also being formed at North Tahoe High School (girls and boys) and Truckee High (boys only). The high school season kicks off March 1 with the HSLL Jamboree at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, and runs through May.

There are seven girls teams and nine boys teams from throughout Reno, Sparks and the Tahoe Basin competing in the high school league.
