Little Shop of Horrors
It’s time to sit back and enjoy the hit show, “Little Shop of Horrors,” produced by the Truckee High School Drama Club. The show centers around a nerdish florist who finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant man-eating plant — that demands to be fed. Shows will be performed at the Truckee High School Auditorium during the first three weekends of May.
Friday and Saturday shows (May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17) will be held at 7 p.m. with Sunday matinees (May 4 and 11) at 2 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now at the Community Recreation Center in Truckee and the Truckee High School Library. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students.
All proceeds go directly back to the Drama Club to help fund future shows, and to provide educational opportunities for the members to attend the Lenaea Theater Festival and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Teen Creative Writing Club
The Creative Writing Club just kicked off and will meet every Monday from 3-4:30 p.m. until the school year ends — and possibly over summer — at the Family Resource Center of Truckee (near KidZone Museum on Donner Pass Road). Break writer’s block, learn new skills, make new friends, and see where professional writing can take you.
