TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Sierra Business Council (SBC), in partnership with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), will offer a special rebate light swap program during May to encourage merchants in Nevada, Placer and El Dorado counties to upgrade existing lighting to energy efficient LED lighting, offering LED light bulbs for as low as $1.
The “Spring Sierra LED Sale” will educate merchants on the retail benefits of LED lighting, including the reduction of energy bills and maintenance costs, plus the enhancement of product displays.
The Sierra Nevada Energy Watch Program serves small and medium businesses as well as municipalities in the following counties: El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sierra, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Alpine and Amador. The SBC program fosters Sierra Nevada communities via “on-the-ground” projects that promote and develop the area’s social, natural and economic capital. More information on SBC’s projects can be found at www.sierrabusiness.org.
Typical lighting rebate programs require customers to wait up to 60 days. The spring sale allows participating businesses to receive an instant rebate from PG&E on lighting upgrades at a reduced cost.
Eligible businesses are commercial PG&E customers within the Nevada, Placer, and El Dorado counties that have existing track lighting and can self-install rebated lighting within one week of purchase.
Businesses interested in participating can learn more, see program rules and sign up at http://tinyurl.com/springsierrasale or contact Karen Ritland at 530-582-4800, firstname.lastname@example.org. There are a limited number of appointment slots and they will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
This program is funded by California utility customers and administered by PG&E under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
