InnerRhythms to host Dinner and a Show
Join InnerRhythms for an evening of music and dance on Friday, May 30, at the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley to raise funds in support of youth performing arts programs. The InnerRhythms Junior Dance Companies Pulse, Crescendo & Paradiddle will be featured along with special guests Alder Creek Middle School Jazz Band, “InnerRhythms Dance Theatre,” “RhythMatriX” and “The Breaks.” Tickets are $25 per person for all ages and include pasta dinner. A silent auction will offer fabulous prizes. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner served at 6 p.m. Space is limited. Senior Pancake Breakfast
The Monthly Pancake Breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Senior Meals program and the Meals on Wheels will be held on June 1, 8-11:30 a.m. in the dining room of the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments at 10040 Estates Drive in Truckee. Jake’s Charity Fishing Derby
Competition is on Lake Tahoe from one hour before sunrise to “High Noon” on Sunday, June 1. Prize money is awarded to anglers who reel in the largest Mackinaw $1,000; $1,000 brown trout and $250 rainbow trout. Cost is $60 entry donation and includes T-shirt, raffle and buffet brunch (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.). Proceeds benefit North Tahoe Booster Club. Boosters golf tournament
The Truckee High Boosters Club is holding its second annual golf tournament on Sunday, June 1 at The Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing. Entry fee is $125 per person. This four-person scramble event starts at 11 a.m. and will include range balls, putting contest, closest to pin and long drive prizes and a raffle afterwards. Truckee High’s Envirolution Club will have a Trashion show after the tournament and food and beverage will be available for purchase at P.J.’s restaurant. Tahoe City Downtown Association’s Clean up Day
Volunteers are needed for Tahoe City Downtown Association’s Clean up Day, Saturday, June 7, a part of Keep California Beautiful.
Help pick up trash in Tahoe City. Check in at Commons Beach at 8:30 a.m. Snacks provided. Pick up trash from 9-11:30 a.m. along designated routes. Pizza party at Lakeside Pizza following. This volunteer opportunity may be used as a service learning project/ high school community service credit project, internship, or other college/high school credit project upon agreement of the school.
Must be at least the age of a high school student; able to easily walk 1-2 miles; responsible with community spirit. Outgoing, positive personalities encouraged!

Graffiti abatement team forming
In response to a recent rash of graffiti in the local Truckee area, a “graffiti abatement” team is being formed. These individuals will work to remove graffiti in and around the area and will work off court-ordered community service hours. The team will be under the supervision of Group Supervisor Hope Claar and under the guidance of Deputy Probation Officer Jodi Tucker. Initial removal areas will focus on the Truckee River Regional Park and downtown areas. Should anyone find graffiti they would like removed they may call the Nevada County Probation Department in Truckee at 530-582-7804.
