Enter your group today for Truckee's Fourth of July Parade

Plans are underway for another exciting Fourth of July parade — the quintessential display of small-town Americana.

Truckee will once again welcome the Wells Fargo horse-drawn stagecoach, a symbol of American history.

As one of America’s top Olympian-producing communities, Olympic athletes including Julia Mancuso, Tamara McKinney and Travis Ganong will ride on floats.

Also returning is the Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band in full Scottish attire parading with pipes and drums.

Truckee’s July 4 parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District parking lot and progresses down Donner Pass Road into historic Truckee, ending around noon.

This year’s theme, #TruckeeMoments, was nominated by Jason Spruitt of California 89, incorporating the social media movement.

Truckee Moments invites parade attendees and participants to take parade pictures, post them through social media, and tag them with #TruckeeMoments.

Parade entry fee is $50.

Entry deadline is Friday, June 27 at 5 p.m.

Trophies (and bragging rights) will be given for Best of Show and winners in each five classifications: Commercial (representing a business), Youth Group (18-years-old and younger), Classic Auto, Open (your group doesn’t fit into any other category), and Non-Profit.

The Parade is produced by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the town of Truckee.
