Glenshire’s yard sale weekend
Residents throughout the Glenshire area will hold a community-wide yard sale on June 14-15, to help you find deals on many items. People from as far away as Reno make this annual and growing event a must on their calendar of events. Residents will hold yard sales at their homes for a convenient, concentrated yard sale shopping experience.
Father’s Day RibFest for Relay
Got ribs? The annual Father’s Day RibFest will take place at the Tri-Counties Bank parking lot, noon-4 p.m. RibFest is sure to be a fun-filled day, themed Ribs, Rods and Rock N Roll. Proceeds will benefit the Truckee Tahoe Relay for Life through the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is an event that takes place for 24 hours to model that cancer never sleeps. The money raised goes directly back to our community to help family members and patients get the best treatment possible. Join RibFest for warm memories and excellent barbecue ribs.
Discover native birds
Join naturalist and ornithologist Warren Bray as he introduces the secret world of the birds in the meadows and creekside trees of Alpine Meadows. Meet on Saturday, June 14, 8 a.m. inext to the corner of Snowcrest and Alpine Meadows Road. Take your field glasses, insect repellent and wear sturdy walking shoes or boots. Tahoe School of Music recital
The Tahoe School of Music recital will be held at the church of Christian Science on Donner Pass Road in Truckee, Tuesday, June 17, 4-7 p.m. Tahoe School of Music currently offers instrument, voice and jam lessons to students throughout North Lake Tahoe and Truckee with a fun, student-centered approach. Rotary lakeside lobster dinner July 5
The Rotary Club of Tahoe City will once again host a delicious dinner on the North Tahoe Conference Center patio in Kings Beach. This event sold out last year and attendance is limited due to cooking capacity. Included: appetizers, Caesar salad,1 1/2-pound live Maine lobster freshly cooked, sweet corn, Truckee Bread Company ciabatta, dessert and entertainment. No-host bar opens at 5:30 p.m., dinner 6-8 p.m., cost is $65 per person. Send your check made out to Rotary Club of Tahoe City to Jim Cline P.O. Box 1725, Kings Beach, CA 96143, by June 27. Volunteers needed for Tahoe City’s July 4 celebration
Feeling patriotic? Love a party? Go out and help raise money for Tahoe City’s fireworks show and enjoy the street faire while you’re at it!
Volunteer opportunities include: Collect donations, sell T-shirts and merchandise, monitor games in the “Fun Zone,” set up and clean up. Dunk tank participants needed as well! Two-hour shifts available from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Each volunteer will receive a commemorative fourth of July T-shirt.

Tahoe Truckee Flyfishers Day on the River
Tahoe Truckee Flyfishers (TTFF) invites beginners and those interested in fly fishing to join a day on the Truckee River on Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m.-noon.
Meet at the north end parking area at Glenshire bridge off of Glenshire Road.
Having the basic equipment (license, waders, boots, fly rod/reel, leader material) will allow you to learn the most, but feel free to drop by with questions. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/adult.
Classic Car Stroll
The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe will present a Classic Car Show in Tahoe City, Friday, June 20, 6-8 p.m. The Tahoe City PUD’s Parks and Recreation Department, Tahoe City Downtown Association and North Lake Auto Parts are sponsoring the event. Register to exhibit your classic and vintage automobiles — free for participants and spectators.
Past events have featured muscle cars, hot rods, antiques, sports cars and other classics. North Lake Auto Parts will award prizes in various categories.

Donner History Hikes
Donner History Hikes will be offered all summer at Donner Memorial State Park. Historian Gayle Green will lead hikes focusing on the trials and tribulations of crossing the Sierra Divide by early emigrants, to include the infamous tragedy that occurred in the winter of 1846.
