Catch Bootstrap Theatre Co.'s children's workshops, free performances in Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Bootstrap Theatre Company will present two free performances of “Lil’ 2 Eyes” at the Truckee Community Arts Center on Thursday, June 27, 6 p.m. and Friday, June 28, 5 p.m.

“Lil’ 2 Eyes” is a Brothers Grimm fairytale similar to Cinderella, but Bootstrap presents the story in a brand new way. Company member Hannah Hogan explains, “We’re presenting a Cinderella like you’ve never seen before. There is live music, singing, dancing, puppets, and a brand new ending.”

Started by Truckee native Colin Lawrence, the group hopes to bring innovative theater to a community that clearly loves the arts: “We’re excited to bring some adventurous new theater to such a spirited community.”

In addition to the performances, Bootstrap will offer five theater workshops June 25-28 in collaboration with the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Parks District. The workshops are for students ages 5 to 18 and cover a variety of topics including puppetry and improvisation.
