Newspaper editor arrested on suspicion of DUI

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The managing editor of the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza and Sierra Sun newspapers was recently arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Kevin Scott MacMillan, 29, was arrested Saturday, July 27, according to a booking report from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

According to information obtained by the Sierra Sun, MacMillan was stopped at about 1 a.m. on Red Cedar Drive, just off Highway 28, in Incline Village.

A breath test allegedly indicated MacMillan’s blood alcohol content was 0.116, which is above the legal limit of .08.

MacMillan was arrested on suspicion of first-offense drunken driving, speeding and failure to obey a traffic control device. He was booked at the Washoe County Detention Center in Reno at 3:13 a.m. He was released on his own recognizance at about 10 a.m.

The Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza are both part of the Sierra Nevada Media Group, which is owned by Swift Communications.
