Yearly disc golf tourney returns to North Shore

The Tahoe Mountain Sports 7th Annual Pro/Am Disc Golf Tournament returns to the North Tahoe Regional Park 18-hole disc golf course on Oct. 12 and 13, bringing disc golf professionals and amateurs to compete at high elevation.

The tournament, a PDGA Sanctioned “B” Pro/Am event, annually brings disc golfers from all over Northern California and Northern Nevada, as well as from as far away as Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Oregon to the Tahoe Vista course, according to a press release from organizers. The tournament has helped drive the Tahoe region’s growing interest in the sport of disc golf, according to a press release from organizers. Disc golf courses worldwide have more than doubled in the past 10 years and participation in the sport continues to grow.

All skill levels are welcome at the tournament as are spectators. Pros are competing for cash prizes, and amateur winners will receive Tahoe Mountain Sports gift certificates.

Player registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 12 with rounds beginning at 9 a.m. Rounds begin at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 13.

The 124-acre North Tahoe Regional Park is located at 6600 Donner Road. The course was built in 2006 and 2007.
