Geechy Guy performs at North Shore

Geechy Guy knows the comedy ropes.

The Reno resident has performed professionally since he was 19 years old and finished in the top 10 of the San Francisco Comedy Competition twice in a row in the late 1980s. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he secured a spot on “Star Search” and beat out Ray Romano, while also setting the record for the most appearances by a comedian on the show at ten, according to his website.

He set another record in August 1993, telling 676 jokes in an hour and landing a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

More recently Guy has made it to the quarter finals on “America’s Got Talent.” He has also made appearances on “The Bob & Tom Show”, “CBS This Morning,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” He was named Comedian of the Year by Las Vegas Weekly magazine in 2011, according to a press release from show promoters.

He brings his comedy to Crystal Bay Casino next week.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. They are available at the Crystal Bay Club, Incline Cleaners, Noah’s Video and New Moon Natural Foods.
