Catch Santa's Fly-In at Truckee Tahoe Airport

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee Tahoe Airport has been notified Santa will fly in to the airport on Saturday, Dec. 14, in a special plane scheduled to land around 10 a.m.

“I am always excited every year to see Santa’s special airplane,” said Kevin Smith, general manager of the Truckee Tahoe Airport. “We’re so glad he is going to make a stop in Truckee. Santa and his airplane are always welcome at the Truckee Tahoe Airport. We look forward to seeing him again this year. ”

Santa will be ready to visit with the children of the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe region to hear their Christmas wishes and provide gifts. Hot chocolate and treats from Whole Treats Bakery will also be on hand.

“Everything I love about our amazing natural environment and the spirit of our community coming together for the benefit of kids is represented in this event,” said Ruth Jackson Hall, early learning coordinator, TTUSD. “And we can’t forget the yummy treats, holiday crafts and Santa’s gift bags for each child with books, gliders and more … shhhh! Don’t tell the kids!”

This event is sponsored by the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, The Flying Doctors, Whole Treats Bakery, Family Resource Center of Truckee, Truckee Tahoe Unified School District, and First 5 Foundation.
