Jonny Moseley leads ski tours at the North Shore

Skiers and snowboarders have the opportunity to take some turns with Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley this week.

Ski and Ride with Jonny Moseley will take place at Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley ski resorts Dec. 28-30.

The days begin at Alpine Meadows, where intermediate and expert skiers can meet Moseley at the bottom of the resort’s Summit Six chairlift at 10 a.m. and take a two-hour tour of the mountain with the skiing champion, according to information from the resort.

Moseley will then move to Squaw Valley, where he will meet skiers and snowboarders at the Gold Coast Demo Center at 2 p.m. for another mountain tour.

The accomplished skier won the 1998 Olympic gold medal in the moguls. He’s also been a host on commentator for numerous events and programs.

“In 2005, Jonny brought 200 tons of snow and 20 of the world’s top skiers and snowboarders to Fillmore St. in San Francisco and held an urban big air competition in the middle of his hometown,” according to his online biography. “In 2006, Jonny achieved another of his goals and graduated from UC Berkeley. In 2007, he was inducted into the US National Ski Hall of Fame and became the narrator of the Warren Miller films. Today he lives in Tiburon CA with his wife and two young sons. He does a variety of TV work including providing the color commentary for the six freestyle skiing events at the Vancouver Olympics and hosting shows on MTV, NBC, and Outside TV.”
