Construction workers pass up material while working on the new Village at Northstar Tuesday morning. Construction of the village is supposed to be completed February or March of 2007.
New businesses continue to open in the Village at Northstar even with construction still underway.
Construction of the Village is in its second phase, which includes 93 condominiums, 21 fractional ownership units and 40,000 square feet of additional retail space.
The first phase, which included shops, restaurants, condominiums and a 9,000-square-foot ice skating rink, was completed during the 2005-06 winter season, said Jessica VanPernis, Northstar communications supervisor.
Currently 98 percent of the phase-one space is leased, she said.
Existing businesses and those that will open this winter are considered part of the first phase, VanPernis said.
There will be different shops and restaurants opening throughout the season, she said.

Phase two work is underway, with major construction to finish over the winter and interior build-out to continue into spring, VanPernis said.
Building construction should be complete around February or March, she said, and the businesses in phase two should be opening in June or July.
Joe Malone, East West Partners project manager for the Village, said construction workers are completing exterior stone-work and siding on some of the phase-two buildings, and a few of the residences in that phase are nearly finished.
We are feeling good about our schedule and are pleased overall with the financial end of the project, Malone said.
The total budget for the Village at Northstar has been just over $250 million so far, he said.
Earthly Delights, a restaurant originally located in Truckee, moved to the Village at Northstar last February, said owner Kelly Bailey.
Its been really great weve been dealing with construction a little bit, Bailey said. We still get locals as well as Northstar home-owners and employees coming in.
A third phase focusing on the Village North project which will include a recreation center with outdoor pools and a fitness center will begin next summer, with no completion date set, VanPernis said.
Meanwhile, further up the mountain, the Ritz Carlton at Northstar broke ground over the summer, and is on-track to be open by 2009, VanPernis said.
