Placer sheriff’s office to closed for asbestos removal

Print Comment
The Placer County Sheriff’s office in Tahoe City will be closed for the latter half of January while undergoing renovation and asbestos removal.

The building will be shut down beginning Saturday and will remain closed through approximately Jan. 31, said Capt. Jeff Granum. In addition to the asbestos removal, new flooring, paint and cabinets will be installed.

During this time, citizens will be unable to access the office for fingerprinting, offender registration, obtaining reports and other services. Dispatchers will still be available at 581-6300, although they will be working off-site. As always, 9-1-1 will be available for emergencies.

For services that cannot wait until the Tahoe office reopens, contact the sheriff’s office in Auburn at 889-7800.
