The owners of Royal Gorge plan to preview their conceptual development plan to the public next month before submitting it to Placer County.
Todd Foster, one of Royal Gorges owners, said his team has considered comments of the community while developing a conceptual plan for portions of the Donner Summit property.
This is not yet a final plan, Kirk Syme, Fosters partner, said in a release Thursday. We would like the community to understand where were headed before we finalize the details and submit it to Placer County.
The developers will hold three, two-hour public meetings March 8, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Summit Station at the Royal Gorge Ski Resort; and March 10 and March 17 at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ice Lakes Lodge on Soda Springs Road.
Each meeting is identical, so community members need only attend one of the meetings.
Foster and Syme and their project team will present the conceptual plan at the meetings using site plans, maps and photographs. There will be discussion stations set up for community members to ask questions and provide comments, as well as comment forms to fill out in writing and by laptop computer. A childrens corner will provide kids activities.
In 2006, Foster and Syme met with Summit residents to gain input regarding real estate development on land they own near Royal Gorge Ski Resort. They also asked residents to serve on a public access ad hoc committee to provide guidance concerning access to public lands. A Public Input Report that describes community concerns is available atwww.royalgorgefuture.com. ;
