Tahoe City hosts bone marrow drive for infant

Print Comment
The Tahoe City fire station will host a drive to find a bone marrow match for Trevor Kott, the grandson of North Tahoe locals Ken and Linda Kott.

Ken Kott is a former president of the Tahoe City Rotary Club and co-owner of long-time North Tahoe business Tahoe Steel Inc.

Trevor Kott was born six months ago with a rare and aggressive case of Leukemia, and needs a bone marrow donor to save his life.

“Our window to find this tissue match is finite,” said Linda Kott in a previous interview. “It is very, very, very tight.”

The process to find out whether you are a bone marrow match requires only a painless mouth swab. Officials from Blood Source in Sacramento will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to hold the bone marrow drive.

The cost of the test is $52, but Linda and Ken Kott have offered to pay for anyone who cannot afford the test.

Trevor Kott is living at Kaiser Permanente hospital in Sacramento, undergoing his fifth round of chemotherapy, according to Linda Kott.
