Kings Beach drug dealer sentenced, deported

Anonymous tip led to September arrest

Print Comment
An undocumented Mexican immigrant residing in Kings Beach has pleaded no contest to two felony counts of possessing cocaine and methamphetamine with intent to sell.

Fernando Alfredo Jacome-Camarillo, 41, was sentenced to felony probation on Nov. 15 and was deported shortly afterward, said Placer Deputy District Attorney Chris Cattran.

In September, an anonymous tip led Placer County Sheriff’s deputies to search Jacome-Camarillo’s Trout Avenue residence in Kings Beach, where they confiscated several grams of cocaine and a half-ounce of methamphetamine, according to Placer Sheriff’s Sgt. Helen Thomsom in a department news release.

Following the arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated Jacome-Camarillo’s citizenship and found him to be residing in the United States illegally.

He was released from Placer County Jail in Auburn on Nov. 19 and placed into custody of customs enforcement before being deported, authorities said.

In a phone interview Wednesday, Cattran said the case was unrelated to the August arrest of a Kings Beach man on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Authorities also seized more than $45,000 cash.

Two Truckee residents recently pleaded no contest to cocaine possession charges, one with intent to sell.
