Aanestad considering run for Doolittle's now-vacant seat

Print Comment
Congressman John Doolittle (R-Roseville), under investigation for a lobbying scandal, told reporters this morning that he will not seek re-election for a 10th term.

Minutes later, Sen. Sam Aanestad (R-Grass Valley) told The Union, the Sierra Sun's sister paper, he is considering running for Doolittle's seat, joining others.

Doolittle’s decision, after serving 17 years in Congress, puts a solidly Republican Congressional seat up for grabs in the November election.
