A break in the weather today as high pressure builds in behind a passing cold front.

Highs today will remain a little below the seasonal normals with highs in the mid 40s around the lake under mostly sunny skies and light northwest winds to 15 mph.

Lows tonight are expected to drop into the upper teens to lower 20s at lake level with increasing high clouds overnight.

Another weak frontal system will bring increasing clouds and southwest winds 20 to 35 mph to the Tahoe area Friday.

Highs Friday are forecast to remain in the lower to mid 40s with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of light snow by afternoon.

Snow fall amounts with this system are forecast to be light and travel is not expected to be impacted with this fast moving system tracking through the area by late evening.

Computer models are now projecting the next system frontal splitting south of the Tahoe area on Saturday with dry weather into Sunday.

The next chance of seeing any snow in the Tahoe area is forecast to be on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
