As usual, the 2008 version of the Lake Cushing Classic pond skimming contest went off like the hilarious event it's meant to be. Competitors attempted to out-do one another in costume and style crossing the frigid waters of Lake Cushing.

Fortunately for those who got wet, Mother Nature was kind enough to supply the kind of sunny spring day that makes Tahoe legendary throughout the world.

Tahoe World staff photographer Emma Garrard was on hand with still and video cameras to capture all the action in case you missed it.

And the 2008 winners are:
Overall winner (of '08-'09 midweek season pass): Team Tripod (aka Danny Scott and Joe Heaslip)
Men's ski: Kyle Krezee
Men's snowboard: Jason K and Ralph Backstrom (tie)
Women's ski: Katherine L.
Women's snowboard: "Robin"
Unlimited: Squal Lee Woodman
