Noel Baird and Marnita Hadnot will be wed on the pier at the Villas at West Shore on Saturday, July 26 2008. They met in Los Angeles in 2003 and quickly became friends. As they got to know each other, they found they had much in common and much to share. They both enjoyed food, wine, and the sensuous joy from all things fair. After many spirited times and many exquisite culinary adventures, Noel finally proposed on July 14, 2007.

Marnita and Noel delight in traveling together. It was this wanderlust that brought them to Lake Tahoe and Truckee for a short vacation in late June 2005. Noel had lived in Incline Village for a year in the early 90s and had fallen in love with Tahoe and its environs. Marnita, dubious as to spending her precious vacation time somewhere she knew little about, grudgingly agreed to travel to Tahoe for a three-night excursion from June 30 to July 3, 2005. They had plans to meet friends on the beach in L.A. for the fourth of July, but those plans changed after Marnita experienced the majestic splendor and small town appeal of Tahoe and Truckee.

After the sixth night and many excuses and apologies, they returned to L.A. with Marnita's suitcase bulging with real estate brochures and classified ads. After many return trips and quite a bit of soul searching, Noel and Marnita decided to get serious about moving to the place they so cherished. They finally fulfilled their dream and moved to Truckee in September of last year.
