Seeing the seven sweet homes on the historical society home tour

All of us need a little inspiration now and again. Those that toured seven outstanding North Lake Tahoe homes last weekend as part of the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society’s annual home tour got their creative juices flowing in their minds just as the water was flowing in Jim and Renate Moore’s lovely manmade natural rock stream at their European-inspired Tahoe Vista home.

At Pam and Dale Chamblin’s nearby home, guests viewed the artistically placed tree inside the home that is actually a load-bearing support. At Laurie and Steve Gregory’s delightful Scandinavian and Swiss Tyrolean-style lakefront home, an abundance of hand-painted décor was seen through out. At Bebe and BJ Cassin’s Flick Point lakefront home the original old Tahoe feeling was charmingly preserved after four remodels. Architect Sherry Guzzi and contractor Ted Guzzi’s home showcased special construction features including hand-crafted full log walls made from standing, dead, lodge pole pine that was peeled and notched by hand in Montana. A totem pole from Montana in the front yard and a Koi pond were just a couple of the unique features of Ken and Bonnie Foster’s architecturally designed home.

Ron and Jane Jenny redesigned and reconstructed their Carnelian Bay lakefront in two phases. Special construction features included reclaimed wood flooring from an 1800s Sierraville farmhouse and a stream under the entryway garden bridge.
