Truckee Police Reports: Aug. 13 - 20, 2008

The following were taken from Truckee Town Police records from Aug. 13 to Aug. 20

Aug. 13

At 5:50 p.m. on Interstate 80, police stopped a vehicle for a code violation and found the driver to be in possession of two pounds of marijuana and several marijuana plants. The driver was subsequently arrested.

At 8:30 p.m. on Deerfield Drive, police received reports that a subject was causing a disturbance in a restaurant. The subject was ultimately arrested for public intoxication.



Aug. 14

At 7:55 p.m. on Brockway Road, police received reports that an 18-month-old boy had been bitten by a dog.

At 11:15 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, police stopped a vehicle for a code violation and found the driver to be in possession of marijuana.



Aug. 15

At 1:25 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, police stopped a vehicle for a code violation and subsequently arrested the driver for driving under the influence.

At 9:55 a.m. on Donner Pass Road, police received reports that a suspicious subject was yelling in a parking lot. The subject was contacted and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and the subject was arrested.

At 8 p.m. on Sierra Drive, police received reports of shotgun theft from a vehicle.



Aug. 16

At 5 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, police received reports that an unknown subject had stolen an unlocked vehicle from the front of a motel.



Aug. 18

At 9:50 p.m. on Interstate 80, police stopped a vehicle for speeding and subsequently arrested the driver for driving under the influence of drugs and for possession of paraphernalia.



Aug. 19

At 8:45 p.m. on Church Street, police stopped a vehicle for a code violation and the driver of the vehicle attempted to flee from the officer, but stopped after nearly colliding with a parked vehicle. The juvenile was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, evading an officer and other code violations. She was booked into juvenile hall.



Aug. 20

At 2 a.m. on South Shore Drive, police and fire department personnel responded to a vehicle fire in a residential area. The vehicle was found to be engulfed and the person suspected of causing the fire was contacted and arrested for public intoxication.

At 1:30 p.m. on Donner Pass Road, a citizen reported a possible DUI driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

At 9:45 p.m. on Rocky Lane, police responded to a vehicle collision with another parked vehicle. During an investigation, the driver failed a field sobriety test, admitted to hitting the vehicle and was subsequently arrested.
