Obituary: E.W. Nick Fuller

E.W. Nick Fuller passed from this life on Sept. 27 while on a golf vacation in Hawaii. He was born in Bakersfield, Calif. on Oct. 2, 1942. Nick attended Bakersfield High School and subsequently attended San Jose State where he earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. He was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at San Jose State.

After college Nick taught high school and coached high school wrestling in the San Jose area. His love of skiing brought him to Tahoe City. Nick’s entrepreneurial spirit culminated in several successful business ventures which included Truckee River Raft Company, Tahoe Raft & Gas and a share in the BridgeTender restaurant.

Nick was passionate about many sports — particularly golf and skiing. It was his good fortune to travel and ski and golf in many destinations worldwide.

Nick is survived by his mother Billie Bizieff and sister Anastasia Bizieff of Bakersfield, his brother and sister-in-law Sam and Toni Rudnick of Walla Walla, Wash., nephews David and Aaron Rudnick and niece Rachel Rudnick as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind a great many good friends and associates who will miss his fine company, his sarcastic wit and his ever-present smile.

A celebration of his life will be held this Saturday, the Oct. 11, at noon at the BridgeTender in Tahoe City.
