Letter to the Editor: Praise for Pandola

As a former airport manager of Ramona Airport in San Diego County, home of one of the busiest air tanker/helitac bases in the country, I’m quite familiar with wildfire firefighting operations and the personnel responsible for fighting those wildfires. Tom Pandola is one of the most knowledgeable individuals I have ever met regarding wildfire protection and the challenges we face protecting lives and property in areas like the Lake Tahoe Basin with dense tree growth and the increasing number of homes and other structures located within this thickly-forested terrain. His exceptional experience and education make him uniquely qualified to serves as a board member of the North Tahoe Fire Protection District. Additionally, he has the passion and demeanor to serve the board well. I heartily endorse Tom Pandola for Board Member of the North Tahoe Fire Protection District.
