TAHOE CITY — A memorial service honoring the late Chris Park will be held at the Bridgetender in Tahoe City today at 1:30 p.m.

Park, the owner of the popular brew pub and burger restaurant, passed away on the morning of Oct. 26.

“He was so supportive of youth athletics and kids in the community,” said Bridgetender manager Jeane “Bean” Jitchaku. Park coached varsity boys basketball at North Lake Tahoe High School.

The Bridgetender parking lot will be closed during the service and a tent will be set up to accommodate guests inside and outside the restaurant.

Guests are encouraged to carpool and park in the lot across the street or at 64 Acres Park.

The restaurant will be closed during the service and will reopen at 5p.m. later today.

The Chris Park Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at Bank of the West across the street. Donations are accepted.
