This week we had a clear winner in the Sierra Sun’s UPickEm Pro Football Challenge — local bartender Suzy Walden of Pete ‘n Peters took first place with a score of 13 correct picks. Looking at the stats, it appears that Suzy just started playing the week before last, making her rise to the top that much more impressive. I guess it pays to hang out in a sports bar all the time.
As usual, Suzy will have her choice of a $30 Pete ‘n Peters gift certificate or a $20 Blue Coyote gift certificate. Anybody want to bet on which one she’ll choose?
In second place this week was Truckee’s Rich Hill, who beat out the other 12-point players because of his very close prediction of the score in the Chicago-Minnesota tie-breaker game. For coming in second, Rich will receive the prize that Suzy does not select.

Each week you pick the winner for each pro football game up to 15 minutes before it is scheduled to start. And each week the player with the most correct picks (see Web site for tie-breaker rules) wins their choice of a Blue Coyote or Pete ‘N Peters gift certificate, with second place taking the prize not selected by the winner.
In addition, we publish the names of the top 10 or so local players every Wednesday, meaning that even if you don’t win, at least you can brag if you beat your friends.
There’s still plenty of time to win, so get in the game! Log on to
