Good Reads for Gift giving in Truckee Tahoe

Print Comment

Holiday Time is literally ‘just around the corner’ and once again I have the perfect gifts to recommend this year. Books are always personal, reasonably priced and they can be customized by blending your selection and your recipient’s interests to bring a smile, an ‘aha’, a kiss upon opening the package.

Please frequent our wonderful, knowledgeable and hard-working local booksellers. All of them will be happy to order any book, should they not have it in stock ‘post haste’ and you will see it in a day or two. Some will even gift-wrap and/or mail it for you (for the additional cost of shipping). And while you are there, browse a little for yourself. In these days of unsettled times, let a book transport you beyond your ‘everyday’ to live a little, learn a little, and love a little more than you might otherwise.

And one more reminder! One of the very best gifts you can give anyone at any age is a library card…and it’s free! And wish the librarians a happy holiday while you are there.

— Barbara Perlman-Whyman's Good Reads column appears in the Sun on Fridays. E-mail bpwhyman@sbcglobal.net.
