TRUCKEE Truckee and Union Pacific Railroad will be featured Tuesday night on the History Channel in a new eight-part series called Extreme Trains.
The show, Transcontinental, will cover the building of the transcontinental railroad in the 1860s. Host Matt Bown rides the busiest freight line anywhere Union Pacifics Omaha to Sacramento on a route that crosses the worlds longest rail causeway, through the worlds largest rail yard and over the fearsome Donner Pass.
Scenes for Transcontinental were video taped in Council Bluffs, Iowa; Omaha, Neb.; Gibbon, Neb.; North Platte, Neb.; Ogden, Utah; near Morgan, Utah; Truckee, Calif.; Roseville, Calif. and Sacramento, Calif.
