Herbert Lack, 95, passed away on June 20, 2009, in Orangeville, Calif., at the home of his son Geoffrey and Rodica Lack, who were his caregivers for the past year.
Herbert Lack, 95, passed away on June 20, 2009, in Orangeville, Calif., at the home of his son Geoffrey and Rodica Lack, who were his caregivers for the past year.
Herb was a custom shirt maker to King George VI, Prince Philip, Lord Louis Mountbatten and many film stars, including Robert Taylor and Gary Cooper. He served in the British Royal Air Force in World War II from 1941-1945. He emigrated to the United States in 1958 with his wife and three children.
He moved to Truckee in 1985. Herb would have been married for 69 years on July 13.
Herb is survived by: his wife, Joan Lack, Truckee; sons, Christopher and Geoffrey Lack of Orangevale and Brentwood, Calif., respectively; and daughter, Angela Lack Farrant, Truckee.
A family celebration of his life was at his home in Tahoe Donner on June 28.
