Plein Air artists will paint in open air locations throughout North Lake Tahoe for three days. Paul Kratter, Craig Mitchell and Zee Zee Mott will judge these paintings the morning of Sept. 12. The public will have the opportunity to vote for the People's Choice Award later Saturday.
The public exhibit and sale of the plein air paintings will be Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Village at Northstar. The public is also invited to watch painting demonstrations by Paul Kratter and Craig Mitchell.
After the weekend at Northstar, the public exhibit and sale then moves to North Tahoe Arts, 380 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City and continues until Oct. 18.
Of the 38 artist selected, 10 are local to the Tahoe area. They are Andrew Bolam, Truckee; Warren Bray, Tahoe City; Bill Clausen, Homewood; Michele deBraganca, Tahoe City; Diane Hub, Tahoe City; Jane Jenny, Tahoe City; Bonita Paulis, South Lake Tahoe; Deb Rose, Truckee; Andy Skaff, Tahoma and Randall Stauss, Carnelian Bay.
Funding for North Tahoe Plein Air comes from the Northstar Foundation and is a benefit for North Tahoe Arts, the Truckee-Donner Land Trust, and the Community Fund of North Lake Tahoe. Prizes for selected paintings have been provided by the Village at Northstar and Sennelier Paints.
