More than 220 agents and staff will build or refurbish dozens of homes in several Northern California neighborhoods during the week of Sept. 21.

TRUCKEE — Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced today it will be conducting a Habitat for Humanity blitz build week as part of its annual Habitat for Humanity fundraising campaign. The build week will be held Sept. 21-25, and volunteers from 14 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices will participate in six different projects throughout Northern California.

As part of the company's Northern California-wide blitz build week, staff members, managers, clients and friends of the Tahoe/Truckee offices of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will help build a home at 539 Ivy Street in Grass Valley. The Tahoe/Truckee-specific build will be held Sept. 23 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“This is the first year we've done all of our Habitat for Humanity builds in one week, and we're really looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and helping make deserving families' dreams come true,” said Bob Bronswick, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Sacramento. “Habitat for Humanity is an excellent organization that gives low-income families the opportunity to be homeowners, and this is an opportunity for our agents to help the community they live and work in.”

Habitat for Humanity addresses the critical need for affordable housing by providing homeownership opportunities for families. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's annual fundraiser kicked off in early August will run through Sept. 25. The Truckee Tahoe branches held a fundraiser Wednesday, Sept. 15, on the Grizzly Falls course at Magic Carpet Golf, 5167 N. Lake Blvd., Carnelian Bay. About 50 people enjoyed owner Bill Koplin's 18-round course. A barbecue dinner was provided by Wild Thyme BBQ from Truckee. A “Chinese Raffle” was held with more than 30 items donated by local businesses such as Wolfdale's, Salon Bella Vita, Sunnyside, Tahoe City Golf Course, Massage on the Lake, Corkscrews, Trilogy Spa, Shoe, True Salon, Jake's, Geared for Games, and many more. More than $1,200 was raised to benefit the Northern California chapter of Habitat for Humanity in Placer County.

Throughout Northern California, more than 3,600 agents have been holding fundraisers and selling raffle tickets with a goal of raising $341,000 to fund the construction of additional Habitat for Humanity homes in 2010. Last year, the company raised more than $191,000.

Over the past 11 years, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California has raised $1.9 million for Habitat for Humanity and helped build 95 homes through 41,700 hours of sweat equity from agents, managers and staff.
