Truckee Police arrest San Francsico man for alleged sexual assault

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Police on Saturday arrested a San Francisco man in his Tahoe Donner home for alleged sexual assault on a 24-year-old woman.

According to a press release from the Truckee Police Department, at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, a San Francisco woman called the Truckee Police Department, requesting a welfare check on her 24-year-old sister, also from San Francisco, who was staying in a Tahoe Donner home on Hansel Avenue.

The woman reported she had allegedly been assaulted by an acquaintance at a neighboring home, according to the release, identifying the man as Peter Killcommons, 50, of San Francisco.

Police arrested Killcommons at his Truckee residence, where the incident allegedly occurred, and booked him into Nevada County Jail in Truckee on sexual assault charges Monday.

According to the release, the woman was taken to Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nev., where she was treated and released.

Deputy District Attorney Bill Cornell said the case is still awaiting a rape report, so charges are pending. Killcommons posted $50,000 bail, he said.
