Joerger Ranch development readies for eco review

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Seventy-one acres straddling the Highway 267/Brockway Road Intersection could see up to 426 homes and 485,00 square feet of commercial space.

The Joerger Ranch development, also known as Planned Community Three, goes back to town council Thursday, this time to approve the hiring of De Novo Planning Group to prepare an environmental impact report for the project.

If approved, the developer would pay the $212,064 contract.

Town Manager Tony Lashbrook said careful consideration and economic analysis will be important in considering the commercial aspect of the project.

“We'll have to explore the whole issue — can we still afford to be spreading commercial throughout the planned communities or do we focus it on downtown?” Lashbrook said.
