Santa's Sledding Party

For almost 60 years, the Tahoe City Rotary has sponsored a “Santa's Sledding Party” North Shore children at Granlibakken Resort, 725 Granlibakken Road, Tahoe City. This year's event will take place Sunday, Dec. 13, from noon to 4 p.m. All children from pre-school to 9 years and their parents are invited. Santa will arrive by North Tahoe Fire Protection District fire truck, led by the North Tahoe High School jazz band, to give out wrapped presents to each child. Sleds are provided by Granlibakken for fast-paced fun, followed by hot dogs, cookies and resfreshments, which are donated by Save Mart in Tahoe City and Safesay in Kings Beach. More than 300 children attended last year. Join the Tahoe City Rotary's wonderful holiday party.

Santa's Fly-In

Be sure to bring the family to the Truckee-Tahoe Airport on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. for the annual fly-in of Santa as he arrives in a small plane, steps onto the tarmac and greets the excited little ones. There will be yummy holiday treats and hot chocolate in a special refreshment tent. Each child will be able to visit with Santa and his elves in the airport terminal and receive a holiday gift bag! This event is a gift from Truckee Tahoe Airport District; The Flying Doctors; The Runway Café and Catering; Tahoe Truckee Unified School District, the Family Resource Center of Truckee and the Treat Box Bakery.
