“Ride A Wave,” a short film by Tahoe City-based production company The Go Big Project, was selected to play at the Santa Cruz International Film Festival on May 8.
Rocky Romano, founder and director of The Go Big Project, said The Go Big Project was founded four years ago and has since produced 30-plus films about various action sports. “Ride A Wave,” which was filmed in Santa Cruz, is a story about one man's dream to help special-needs and disadvantaged youth — many of whom cannot even swim — experience the thrill of catching a wave.
The film also was selected for showcase at the annual X-DANCE Action Sports Film Festival in Salt Lake City this past January.
The Go Big Project also announced the formation of a new website, www.keeptahoereal.com, which showcases a diverse collection of full budget and independent action sports films and art forms, as well as the adventures of the Keep Tahoe Real Crew as they travel the world.
More specifically, Romano said the site is a grassroots online community featuring action sports film, art, music, photography and culture from around the world.
