TRUCKEE, Calif. — Assemblyman Dan Logue, R-Linda, will be holding a Jobs and Business hearing June 25, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Truckee Town Administrative Center. Logue will be joined by Assemblyman Ted Gaines, R-Roseville and Assemblyman Roger Niello, R- Fair Oaks. There will be several members of the local business community on hand to testify against the regulatory burdens that have made it difficult to operate in California.

“You know that there is something seriously wrong with a state when it has been consistently ranked last in the nation for business. If Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico were considered states, California would be ranked 52nd. “We can't afford to continue driving away jobs; Californians won't and shouldn't have to put up with this anymore,” stated Logue, vice-chair of the assembly committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy.

Assemblyman Logue, a former small business owner, set up several Jobs and Business hearings across the state in order to determine how best to help businesses thrive and bring jobs back to Californians.

Assemblyman Niello stated, “It is critical that we hear directly from employers about the impact of regulation. While I am looking forward to hearing from the small businesses in the Truckee-Tahoe region, I am very concerned about what they are going to tell us. In similar hearings that I held in the Sacramento area earlier this year, we heard a few horror stories about what small businesses face in the California regulatory environment”.

Several local officials will also be on the panel including Ted Owens (Nevada County Supervisor), Carolyn Wallace Dee (Mayor of Truckee) and Dennis Schlumpf (Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe).

Assemblyman Logue represents the 3rd Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes the communities of Butte, Lassen, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra and Yuba.
