TRUCKEE, Calif. — Tickets are still available for the Truckee Chili Cookoff to be held Sunday, June 27, at Truckee River Regional Park. Tickets for unlimited chili tasting are $10 for adults and children under 12 are free. Tickets are available from the Truckee Donner Chamber in the old Depot, any Sunrise Rotarian and at www.TruckeeChiliCookoff.org.

Tickets will also be available at the event.

This community fundraiser will provide a day of family fun with chili tasting, non-stop entertainment, food and beverages and a host of activities for adults and children alike.

The O. K. Chorale, a men's barbershop group, specializing in harmony, comedy and generally great entertainment, will open the show.

Noted local musician Richard Blair will also entertain with his original songs about Truckee and our region. You're sure to enjoy his offbeat point of view.

Pleasant Heads, the popular country-modern band from Reno, entertains with its unique style ranging from classic rock, country, blues, alternative, and pop oldies to their own unique songs. They play a diverse song list covering the span of time, reflecting the different tastes and bands in which they have played.

The area's best chili cooks will compete for top honors in these categories: Restaurants, Nonprofits and Individuals plus Best Overall. In addition, a People's Choice award will recognize the chili garnering the most votes from attendees and there will be an award for best cooking team theme.

A panel of area dignitaries will judge the chili and make the awards.

All proceeds benefit Truckee-North Tahoe programs addressing the needs of youth, economically disadvantaged and elderly. The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club has supported the community since 1993.
