TRUCKEE, Calif., — The firey Guy Fieri dropped in to Brickelltown's Burger Me! to film the renovated warehouse burger joint's line up for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to air on the Food Network Channel beginning July 19. The all-natural products and unique spin on the humble burger caught Fieri's attention after customers, who are a big fans of the show, called in to sell Burger Me!. The small business is locally owned and operated, using all natural products and creative burger construction. Tom Farina, co-ower and general manager, said shooting for the spot was a two-day process, with 15 hours of shooting for the 10-minute section. “Guy was thrilled with the food, the unique combinations, the all natural ingredients and Project MANA donation station,” said Farina. A few Fieri's favorites were the Truckee Train Wreck, a large burger with turkey chili, cheddar cheese, fried egg and onion rings and the Italian Stallion Special, a bison burger with Provelone, mortadella, salami and hot chopped Boston peppers topped with vinegar and oil on a Truckee Sourdough Company roll. “It's great exposure for the Town of Truckee, millions of people within driving distannce will see it — a nice stimulus for the community,” said Farina.
