WASHINGTON, D.C. — InnerActions, a Community Outreach Project of local nonprofit InnerRhythms, gained national recognition by performing at the National Children's Mental Health Training Institutes' 2010 Conference sponsored by Georgetown University in Washington D.C. InnerActions' purpose is to use multi-media performance to positively impact our youth in the prevention of at-risk behaviors, including substance abuse, eating disorders, bullying, teen suicide and acceptance and intolerance of others by offering a message of prevention through inspiration.
The trip to our nation's capital was exhilarating and impressive. By special request, InnerActions performed at a private viewing for Dr. Gary Blau, chief, Child, Adolescent and Family Branch at Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the U.S. Dept. of Health. Children's mental health advocates and administrators from all over the country are interested in bringing the powerful InnerActions Project into their communities. InnerActions appreciates the support and sponsorship by the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation, Queen of Hearts, Squaw Valley USA, Virgin America, Harmon Knecht Foundation and many private donors. For additional information about InnerActions, please call InnerRhythms at 550-8464.
