TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Starting Friday, SnowFest! will celebrate 30 years of family fun at North Lake Tahoe. This year, annual favorites will be back, along with a host of great new ones.
On and off the mountain, at North Tahoe's numerous resorts and vibrant lakeside neighborhoods, there's something for everyone. Enjoy on-snow events at resorts like Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Diamond Peak and Northstar-at-Tahoe.
Participate in special events, parades, races, parties, concerts, theater; and of course, there's plenty of wining and dining to be had at North Lake Tahoe's fine restaurants and lively establishments.

Proceeds to benefit numerous non-profit organizations which sponsor each candidate. Opening Night Ceremonies and Coors Light Fireworks Display At 6:30 p.m. at Squaw Valley USA. Catch the free Nightrider Bus to Squaw Valley, and see the amazing 30th Annual SnowFest! Opening Ceremonies, as Squaw Valley's sky is lit up with an amazing laser show, torchlight parade and incredible fireworks display! Live DJ music with the “Space Cowboys” & the “Unimog” on the outside KT-22 Sundeck kick it off all afternoon, into the evening. Watch all the festivities while Johnny Haines emcees it off the hook! Presented by SnowFest! & Squaw Valley USA. Olympic Plaza's SnowFest! Opening Night Party At 7 p.m. at Plaza Bar, Squaw Valley USA. This Opening Night Party transforms from the “Space Cowboys and the Unimog” on the outside KT-22 Sundeck by day, to the inside, “Laser Infested” dance party immediately after the Fireworks! Come inside the Olympic Plaza for more live DJ music that will rock it in “Burning Style,” with San Francisco's DJ favorites “the Space Cowboys.” 2nd Annual Hot Dog '80s Retro Party From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Cornice Cantina, Far East Building, Squaw Valley USA. Parade Begins at 11:30 a.m., downtown Tahoe City. See Tahoe's wackiest and wildest strut down North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City! Cross Country Ski Racers from all over the world will embark on the 35th Annual Great Ski Race. The 30 km race begins at the Tahoe Cross Country Center in Tahoe City, and goes up and over the ridges to end up in a downhill race to the Cottonwood Restaurant in Truckee for a huge after party! The Great Ski Race is one of the largest nordic ski races west of the Mississippi! It is enjoyed by the very competitive, as well as those just touring with friends and family of all ages. Special Olympics Polar Plunge At 10 a.m. at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort Beach, Incline Village. Plungefest is not a swim, but rather a party!
