TRUCKEE —The Richardson House and the Town of Truckee recently entered into a Mills Act Contract. The property tax abatement program enables The Richardson House to receive a minor tax break in exchange for the immaculate care involved with the historic preservation of this unique home. The Mills Act is designed for historic buildings and neighborhoods that play a key economic role in their respective community. “The Richardson House is over 120 years old and needs a great deal of ongoing care. We are meticulously maintaining the house in an effort to preserve this beautiful piece of Truckee's history for future generations to enjoy,” said Christina Stoever Young, proprietor of The Richardson House.
