Reno-Tahoe McDonald's Restaurants
to host fundraiser for JK Metzker family
The McDonald's Restaurants of the Reno-Tahoe region will host a fundraiser for the family of JK Metzker. Metzker, who served as the Sports Director for KTVN-TV in Reno, Nev. tragically died Nov. 13 after being involved in a hit-and-run incident while crossing the street near the University of Nevada-Reno. Metzker leaves behind his wife, Jaimie and three young sons.
On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the McDonald's restaurants located throughout the Reno-Tahoe media market will donate 20 percent of all sales between 4-7 p.m. to the Metzker Family Fund to assist with their financial needs. The entire community is encouraged to visit the restaurants between these hours to help the Metzker family in their time of need.
California Restaurants include: 925 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City; 11420 Deerfield Drive, Truckee; 1035 Emerald Bay Road, S. Lake Tahoe; 3715 Lake Tahoe Blvd., S. Lake Tahoe; 3000 Main St., Susanville.

The camp/retreat runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for children ages 5-10 offering basic poses, yoga games, partner poses, meditation, arts and crafts and lots of fun. Mats and smiles provided. InnerRhythms expands MiniRhythms classes
Join InnerRhythms Dance Studio for fun dance classes for 3-6-year-olds that include Hip Hop, ballet, tap, jazz and tumbling.
MiniRhythms follows the “Leap n' Learn” dance syllabus, a comprehensive early childhood dance syllabus designed with a child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development in mind. Through storytelling and games children will learn about concepts such as spatial awareness, musicality and classroom etiquette, as well as basic dance steps and technique. These classes for both boys and girls are offered only at InnerRhythms.
“Explorations” classes for 3-5 year-olds and “Serendipity” for 5-6 years are offered all week plus Saturday mornings.
Hip Hop classes for ages 3-4 and ages 5-6 are offered on Fridays after school.
The first class is always free, so go dance and play. Transportation is available from Discovery Preschool.

From Hwy. 40, east of Donner Ski Ranch, turn onto the road right before Sugar Bowl Ski Academy. Those coming from the west shore of Donner Lake can make a winding climb up Old Highway 40 to the pass. From the pass continue about .2 miles. Sugar Bowl Ski Academy will be on your left where we will meet. The loop is approx. 4.6 miles.

Disabled Sports USA Far West, located at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is looking for volunteers to help teach people with disabilities to learn how to downhill ski and snowboard. Volunteers must be strong intermediate skiers (or above) and have a desire to share the mountain experience with participants. Mandatory training is provided.
