Thanks to Career Bound and Clear Capital
Career Bound is a nonprofit organization that motivates high school students to explore different career paths and consider the educational choices ahead of them. The program is entirely funded through the generosity of Clear Capital's President Kevin Marshall and CEO Duane Andrews.
In this, sixth year of the program, more than 150 high school students benefited from presentations by an architect, a chef, a lawyer, an information technology specialist, a doctor, a nurse, a professional snowboarder and two corporate executives. Students who attended the majority of those presentations were invited on a two-day tour of Sierra College (Rocklin campus), UC Davis and Stanford. The entire program, including the tours, was provided free of charge.

Thank you Dragonfly!
Once again Dragonfly's owner Billy McCullogh had his local's appreciation month which means half-price on the menu. Thank you Billy!
I was able to take my daughter, who was home from college for a three-day weekend, out to an exquisite dinner. Dragonfly is her favorite restaurant and I wanted to share some quality time with her, reward her for her hard work and create a memory.
We shared two hours of quality conversation over one of the best dinners we've ever had.
It's a time and meal that we both will treasure for the rest of our lives.
I couldn't have done it without the deal Billy, so, thank you with all my heart for giving me the opportunity to create such a wonderful memory with my daughter.

Swigard's aids Wellness Group
All of us at Sierra Mental Wellness Group (formerly Sierra Family Services) in Tahoe City would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you!” to Swigard's Hardware Store. The good folks at Swigard's took care of us with our painting needs and showed a concern and willingness to contribute to our nonprofit community counseling clinic renovation. The offices now have a fresh coat of paint and are much more welcoming and warm. Thank you again Swigard's Hardware and happy New Year wishes.

Thank you for the Jacob Buhler Benefit Day
The Buhler family and the North Tahoe Business Association would like to extend an enormous thank to the Kings Beach businesses that took part in the Jacob Buhler Benefit Shopping Day, Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Businesses graciously donated more than $1,700 to help Jacob with his medical bills. Jacob was struck by a vehicle in a Kings Beach crosswalk this past summer and continues to receive physical therapy. Participating businesses included: Blue Onion Café, Jason's Beachside Grille, Lakeview Threads, Las Panchitas, Lauren's Garden, Rainbow Doorways, Sierra Shirts & Shades, Soule Domain, Sweet Peas Florist, Tahoe Bike & Ski, Tahoe Mountain Sports, The Robin's Nest, Transformations Salon and Village Hairstyles.

Wreaths Across America a success
A big thank you from the cadets of the Civil Air Patrol Tahoe Truckee Squadron goes to the Truckee community and visitors for their generous donations supporting the Wreaths Across America event Dec. 10. Their generosity helps place hundreds of wreaths on the gravesites of our fallen military heroes at more than 350 cemeteries in the U.S. and around the world. In just two short days the cadets raised more than $1,000 for the event. Part of the proceeds will benefit the local CAP cadet education programs. They also traveled to the Veteran's National Cemetery in Fernley, Nev. to place wreaths on the veteran's gravesites. This event happens simultaneously across the U.S. from Arlington National Cemetery to the West Coast. Thank you again for your generosity!
