A civil suit filed last month in El Dorado County Superior Court accuses the city of interfering with the operation of a South Lake Tahoe business.

Court documents dated April 7 reveal sparse details about the case, except that Brenda Rogers, an owner of High Sierra Adventure Sports, is claiming more than $25,000 in damages because of actions by the city.

The sport touring and retail company has suffered a loss of wages, general damages, a loss of earning capacity and revenue because of actions by the city, according to the documents.

The business' attorney on the matter, Jordan Morgenstern, declined Friday to comment on the specifics of the case.

City Attorney Catherine DiCamillo also declined to comment until she had a chance to see the lawsuit.

Rogers previously has battled the city over its temporary sign ordinance at two previous locations of High Sierra Adventure Sports, one on Harrison Avenue and one on Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

In May 2007, Rogers appealed an April 2007 decision by the city Planning Commission that found the business was operating without a required special-use permit at its Lake Tahoe Boulevard location.

In June, the South Lake Tahoe City Council upheld the Planning Commission's decisions regarding the special-use permit.

High Sierra Adventure Sports no longer is operating in South Lake Tahoe and now is located in Round Hill Square in Nevada.

The first hearing in the civil case is scheduled for July 14, according to court documents.
