Peak Volleyball Camps to be offered in Truckee, Tahoe city and Reno

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Caif. — Peak Volleyball summer camps will highlight a staff that brings amazing college experience.
The coaches will work directly with each camp participant focusing on personal attention with skills training, fun game scenarios, individual HD video feedback, power training with a speed radar, team building, competitions, and more. The programs are designed to accommodate and challenge girls ages 10-18 of all experience levels. Four volleyball camps are on the summer schedule in Tahoe City, Truckee, and Reno, Nev.
Peak Volleyball will conduct the Expert Skills Volleyball Camp July 8-10 in Reno and Aug. 2-4 in Tahoe City, with optional dorms and meals at the Granlibakken Resort. Successful, expert coaches will elevate players of all levels from fifth through 12th grade to reach their peak. The camp has a fun positive atmosphere and proven training curriculum. Based on the experience of participant groups, training is adjusted for appropriate level and challenge. Sessions range from fundamental skills to advanced position specific training. Team system training in offense, defense, and transition is integrated into the sessions. Warm up to music, get HD video feedback, and power training with radar speed testing.
Drills progress from high feedback skills repetitions to fast-paced game-like scenarios and games. Registration fees are $225 to $235, with an additional fee of $150 when selecting the optional dorm and meal plan available in Tahoe City.
The Lake Tahoe High Intensity Volleyball Camp July 12-14 in Tahoe City is for players looking to reach their maximum potential! This fast-paced camp brings intensity to each training session for girls with high school or club experience. Get training with reps, game-oriented segments, game scenarios, and competitions. Work hard to become your best.
This camp includes an amazing treetop zip line and canopy tour, Friday night pizza pool party, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and some beach time too! Optional supervised dorm and meal plan is hosted at the Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City. Registration fee is $275, with an additional fee of $150 when selecting the optional dorm and meal plan.
The Donner Lake Beach Volleyball Camp July 16-18 at West End Beach located in Truckee highlights lakefront beach and grass volleyball courts for a really fun summer experience. For players of all levels from fifth through 12th grade reach their peak. Great skills training, game scenarios and competitions. Playing outdoors helps players become more dynamic athletes and assertive in their game. It also exposes players to a more competitive and success oriented mind set. Participants get to take advantage of beach and water activities. Lunch break is on the beach too. The registration fee is $225.
Camp Director and Head Technical Coach Mike Welch leads every session and works with all the players. His experience includes being an NCAA Division I and II college head volleyball coach for 17 years with 267 career wins, six nationally ranked seasons, and five conference championships. Welch was the head coach at Idaho State University, University of North Florida, and Morehead State University. Additionally, Welch was a two-time head coach for the USA Youth National Team, and coached five years in the USA National Team development program. He has coached players who have become a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Olympic Best Scorer and Silver Medalist, numerous National-Players-of-the-Year and college All-American honorees.
The camp staff will boast coaches with high level coaching experience. Lisa Griffiths is the head volleyball coach at the University of Montana Western and former NCAA Division I assistant coach and player. Kim Lester is the head volleyball coach at Grossmont College and former NCAA Division I assistant coach and player. She was also named the California Community Colleges Coach-of-the-Year. Jamie Ivers is the head volleyball coach at Grossmont College and former NCAA Division I assistant coach and player. Ivers was one of eight finalists for National Coach-of-the-Year while being named as the AVCA Region Coach-of-the-Year. Rob Holley is a former interim head coach of the University of North Florida women’s team and the University of Kentucky men’s team, and held numerous NCAA Division I and II assistant coach positions. Holley just won the U.S. Open Men’s National Championship in 2013 an assistant coach.
