TAHOE-TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are the Sierra Sun’s picks for the Top 10 events to check out this weekend at Truckee and Lake Tahoe.

1. WinterWonderGrass Festival

Sip craft beers and enjoy top-notch bluegrass entertainment all weekend long at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows. Beer tents will pour from 2-5 p.m. and performances are scheduled across four stages until 10 p.m.



When: Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2 | 1:45 p.m. doors open

2. South Lake Tahoe Chamber Annual Business EXPO

Harrah’s will host this year’s business expo featuring Lake businesses and their products, programs and services. Guests can learn while enjoying a night of food tasting, beer and wine sampling as well as live music and entertainment.

When: Friday, March 31 | 4:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Harrah’s & Harveys Lake Tahoe, Stateline

Cost: $15 in advance, $20 day-of

3. Davy Knowles at the CBC

Head to the Crystal Bay Casino this weekend to catch blues, rock and roots musician Davy Knowles for an evening of soulful guitar and vocals.

4. Achieve Tahoe’s Ability Challenge

Achieve Tahoe and their supporters have been working to raise their goal of $200,000 by April 1 and will celebrate with the Ability Challenge on-hill event at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.

5. 17th Annual Dummy Downhill

Build your best dummy to launch off of a jump on skis or a snowboard during Diamond Peak’s acclaimed Dummy Downhill. Spectators can view from the Base Lodge Deck as registered teams battle for the championship.

When: Saturday, April 1 | All day, 9 a.m. registration begins

6. AC Classic at Sky Tavern

Join a slalom race on snow, first lap on a bike and second lap on skis or a snowboard. Meet with bike and ski vendors and enjoy food, drinks and fun for all ages.

Cost: $20 registration fee

7. Dorinda’s Chocolate and Wine Tasting

Visit Art Truckee to enjoy a wine tasting for guests age 21 and older, also featuring chocolate tastings from Dorinda’s Chocolates.

8. Phutureprimitive + Love and Light

MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa will present an EDM show with headliners Phutureprimitive as well as Love and Light in BLU Nightclub. VIP tables and bottle service are available at additional charge.

9. Live Streamed Meditation & Worship

Join For Goodness Sake for Sunday live streamed meditation with the Agape International Spiritual Center and Dr. Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith. Agape is a trans-denominational spiritual community based in Los Angeles.

10. Felted Easter Eggs

Get ready for Easter and create decorative, dry felted eggs using fleece fibers and a barbed needle. All supplies will be provided, the workshop is designed for guests ages 11+.
