INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Welcome snow! We are so glad you are back in Tahoe and hope to have you visit often. Yes, the power outage made for an interesting start to the week (thanks Steve King for helping all of us get our computers back on) and so good to see everyone remembers how to drive in the winter.

Be sure your tires, snow chains and other emergency supplies are ready. Here it comes.

Celebrate Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and remember, many local businesses will be closed to honor our veterans. Also, mail is not delivered on Veterans Day. Thank you to all who have served and those now serving.

The Tahoe Family Solutions Bowl for Families event is Saturday, Nov. 7. Even if you do not have a team participating, stop at Bowl Incline and cheer on all of the teams. If you still would like to sign up to bowl, call Nayeli at 775-298-0004 for information.

Tahoe SAFE Alliance’s annual Tahoe Chocolate & Wine Festival is from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. For information, contact Dawn Harris at Tahoe SAFE Alliance at alliancedawnh@tahoesafealliance.org or 775-298-0010.

The next AAUW dinner meeting is on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. Ms. Peggy Martin, Community Development Director, will be the guest speaker and talk about Big Brothers and Sisters and how their efforts are having a powerful and positive impact in Nevada.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Incline High School Blood Drive. It will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Incline High School small gym. Call Kari Michael at 775-337-7574 to make appointments or visit http://www.BloodHero.com and use Sponsor Code: INCLINE HIGH.

Save the Date for the Holiday Bazaar. The American Association of University Women Tahoe Nevada Branch and the Incline High School Boosters will sponsor the Bazaar, featuring local artists and artisans, gifts, holiday décor, a bake sale, refreshments, and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Incline High School gymnasium. The Incline High School Jazz Band will entertain attendees. Admission is free. Potential vendors should contact Stephanie Petrossi for more information stephpetrossi@yahoo.com or 408-398-0550.

Happy Anniversary to Emy and Ed Gurowitz on Nov. 10.

Only one Birthday to report this week, and yes, he is a loyal Packers fan. Happy Birthday to Tom Rosenthal on Nov. 7.

The Deal or Steal for this week is to go enjoy the snow. And maybe even do a little snow dance to show our appreciation.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
