Incline Village community notes: Nov. 18, 2015

Jean Eick
Special to the Bonanza

We are only one week away from a white Thanksgiving. Please continue the snow dances and all other activities to bring more snow to Tahoe.

Remember that the Incline High School Blood Drive is from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the school. Stop at the small gym or call Kari Michael at 775-337-7574 if still interested in participating.

Plan now to attend yhe American Association of University Women Tahoe Nevada Branch and the Incline High School Boosters Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the IHS gym. The Bazaar will include local artists and artisans, gifts, holiday décor, a bake sale, refreshments, and the IHS Jazz Band. Admission is free. Potential vendors should contact Stephanie Petrossi for information at stephpetrossi@yahoo.com or 408-398-0550.

Please help our community give the joy of reading to local children with Holiday Bucks for Books. The Read With Me Volunteer Program Fund held at the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation is raising money to purchase four new children’s books to give to each child at the Incline Elementary School for the holidays rather than toys – a total of 1,700 books! Call Jean at 775-298-0184 if you need information.

Happy Anniversary to Wayne and Cindy McClelland on Nov. 25, and Mark and Susan Herron on Nov. 26. Congratulations!

Birthdays to celebrate this week include: Kim Casselberry and Zander Wallpe on Nov. 20; Bea Epstein, Ronnie and Dave Rector on Nov. 21; Barb Collier on Nov. 24; and David Hardie on Nov. 25. Happy Birthday!

The Deal or Steal for this week is to go enjoy one of the many Tahoe winter activities available.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
